Ecoflow river 2 review big power in a small package and comes with plenty of ports for multiple devices. Use it while camping, hiking or as an emergency backup at home. It has an AC outlet capable of up to 300W as well as a DC port and two USB-A and one USB-C. Crank up the wattage with X-Boost mode to run larger appliances such as laptops and blenders.
This version of the River uses Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries that EcoFlow says will work for up to 10 years and 3000 charge cycles – that’s around 768kWh worth of storage. The power station can be recharged in six hours when plugged into an AC wall outlet, nine hours via the car’s 12V port and around 4.5 hours with solar panels (depending on panel wattage).
EcoFlow River 2 Review: Portable Power for Your Adventures
A useful LCD display on the front of the unit shows the battery’s current charge state as well as how much power is being drawn from it or fed back to it. This is also where you’ll find the on/off switch for the internal fan, which is used to help dissipate heat during charging and operation.
Another neat feature is the ability to connect the River to your phone via Bluetooth or WiFi to access a more comprehensive set of features and controls. The app lets you view real-time data such as energy consumption and the battery’s state of charge, adjust charge and discharge rates, set timeouts for AC or DC outputs and toggle X-Boost mode on/off.
